Police
Police are not like they are in the UK as they are not afraid to use violence. Out of two police, one always has a gun.
There are three types of police - Guardia Civil, National police and Local police.
Guardia Civil – The main type of police which are only called out for major incidents such as car crashes etc.
National police – A little lower in rank, but they are still called out for stuff such as disturbance in a neighborhood.
Local police – Police which patrol streets and are called out if there is a disturbance where you live.
The number for police in Tenerife is 112, to report an incident it is recommended you speak Spanish but they will be able to understand some English.
